While sharing ideas and stories about this series, several people brought up the Massey-Harris 21s and 27s. I liked the idea of bringing together the bright red combines and a favorite truck of mine, a 1951 Ford.
The painting is not site specific but could be anywhere in a creek or river valley in Kansas . The clouds in the sky are a bit ambiguous. Will the billows build into a thunderstorm or might the day's harvest carry on?
