"The Burlington Depot in Norton, Kansas c.1890"

Alkyd on Panel
18" x 24"

From the Collection of Allen Young, St. Paul, Minnesota

Norton and Almena, Kansas were served by two railroads. The Rock Island ran from Belleville, Kansas to Limon, Colorado. The Burlington dropped into Kansas from Republican City, Nebraska and ended at Oberlin, Kansas.

The painting shows the early two story Depot common to the Burlington. An east bound passenger train from Oberlin glides into Norton.
