Another fun treasure in East Los Angeles was the Oil Can on Whittier Boulevard.  They served eats, ice cream, and Eastside Beer to be "put inside". Eastside Beer was brewed by George Zobelein, an immigrant from Bavaria. In 1948, Eastside was purchased by Pabst Brewing. By looking at old photographs, it would appear the Oil Can was in Montebello.
