2013 is the 200th anniversary of the German composer Richard Wagner. Harking back to the 60s and 70s when car designers such as Tom Daniel, Dave Deal, Ed "Big Daddy" Roth and others were having one big time with real and model kit autos, I couldn't resist painting Wagner in that vein!

The paintings are "CARtoons" of two of Wagner's four Der Ring des Nibelungen operas.

Siegfried

Gotterdammerung

Wotan sensing the god's time is on the decline, returns to the Earth Mother, Erda. She is not helpful, her powers failing, so the long and short of the story, Wotan, disguised as the Wanderer, comes to grips the fact the gods are doomed. Their "heritage" will pass on to the mortals, Siegfried and Brunnhilde. In the end all will perish!
